Lean phase conveyance: Pneumatic Conveying

Pneumatic conveying is carried out by FAT as lean phase conveyance, among other things. This continuous conveying is for example used for the injection of adsorbent materials in the flue gas cleaning. It is carried out by means of sluice hopper as well as rotary valve and product feeder shoe or as injector conveyance.

Characteristics of the lean phase conveyance:

  • low investment costs
  • simple design
  • conveying air is generated by a separate fan

Dense phase conveyance: low wear, low energy consumption

Dense phase conveying is carried out by means of pressure vessels using a pressure of up to 6 bar (overpressure), so that conveying distances of up to several thousand metres can be achieved.

Characteristics of the dense phase conveyance:

  • high material loads µ
  • low conveying speeds
  • low wear
  • low energy consumption
  • low maintenance costs
  • long conveying distances can be realised

Transport by air conveying chutes

The conveying chutes are used for the transport of cement, fly ashes and residual products from the flue gas cleaning. They consist of an air-guiding drag, air-permeable fluidised fabric and material conveying cope.
The conveying air flows from the drag via the fluidised fabric into the cope. In the process the material is fluidised and conveyed downwards through the slightly sloped trough.

Air conveying chutes are suitable for dust-free horizontal conveying of a high rate of mass flows.

  • conveying capacity up to 1.500 m³/h possible
  • no moving parts, therefore almost no wear
  • simple design, thus virtually maintenance-free
  • low power consumption, thus extremely cost-effective
  • very reliable in operation
  • high availability
  • long service life
