What does the future of the foundry industry look like? 

This is just one of the many questions that will be discussed at the Große Gießereitechnische Tagung 2024.

The development towards a climate-neutral future is gaining momentum and poses numerous challenges for the foundry industry. Current global events and crises emphasise the urgency of exchanging ideas in order to find forward-looking solutions. The Federal Association of the German Foundry Industry and partners from Austria, Switzerland and Germany have put together a programme of presentations covering the most important trends in casting technology and the foundry industry.

Participants can look forward to presentations covering practical application and research in the fields of iron, steel and non-ferrous metal casting as well as production technology, material and process development. In addition, solutions for increasing energy efficiency, environmental technology, digitalisation and recruiting skilled workers will be presented that have already been successfully implemented in foundries or show great promise.

A highlight of the conference will be the big foundry evening on the first day of the event, where, among other things, the Innovation Award of the German Foundry Industry will be presented.
